The simplest way to give, is by online donation either by giving a one time donation or setting up a monthly sponsorship to be deducted from your credit/debit card or checking account. When you begin sponsorship, you will receive a package in the mail with an 5.5 x 8.5in card with your girls picture and information about her on it. These cards are great to be displayed in a frame, on the fridge or your office desk. You will, also, receive updates throughout the year about how your girl is doing.
How Sponsorship Works
You may wonder why EFP encourages more than one person to sponsor the same girl when other sponsorship programs have one donor per child for him/her to be considered fully sponsored. For the most part, the kids in those programs already have families that they live with, so the sponsorship provides things like education, school lunches, lessons in hygiene, and the presentation of the Gospel in their language.
At Eternal Family Project it’s different. Each girl becomes an EFP daughter, with a mom who loves them as her own. An EFP daughter receives immediate medical care, dental care and balanced nutrition, and gets a better education than most will ever receive in Honduras. Most people will never be able to understand the difference between life in an orphanage compared to a home and family like EFP. Many of these girls were given or taken away, due to abuse and neglect, to live in an institution to be lost and forgotten, and were never shown the love and care that each child of God deserves. No matter how good certain orphanages may be, they cannot offer the same love and relationship that God intended for each of us to experience. Each girl at EFP will never have to know what it’s like to be forgotten again. They now have an eternal family to be a part of forever.
You, as a sponsor, are a part of our family, too. We encourage you to welcome each girl into your thoughts and prayers and to send them letters, cards, pictures, gifts and love. You can even come to Honduras to meet and play with them and be a direct part of their lives. That is what sponsorship with EFP does. It doesn’t just provide a means for education and food, but a life these daughters would never know otherwise. Each girl can now be shown the incredible love of Jesus through the provision of a real family with sisters, sponsors, and a loving mommy.
Above all things, EFP is a family, and we combine each individual donation for a sponsored girl to create a family fund. In this way we can ensure each and every girl is taken care of, despite possibly not having as many personal sponsors as another. It wouldn’t make sense to keep each girls’ sponsorship money separate; like any other family, each daughter gets the same everything. It costs roughly $300/month for each girl to receive food, clothing, shelter, and an education at the best bilingual school available.
When you become a sponsor, you’ll receive an information packet, which includes a 5.5 x 8.5 inch bio card a photo of your girl and information about who she is. These are great for framing or displaying next to your friends and family on your refrigerator.
Occasionally we will send updates on your girl with letters or pictures from them.
