I´m sick and tired of leaving children behind! Leaving them at the hospital……at the orphanages……on the streets.

Yuri stayed overnight again at the hospital with Denia. Tonight was especially hard to leave. Not sure why. I know the girls at home need me there as much as Denia needs me at the hospital. She’s in good hands though. Yuri is gonna be a great mom!

Yuri holds a two month old baby boy at the hospital. He’s malnourished and needs heart surgery. He’s one of nine children being raised by a single mother. The mother will have to give him up unless she can find a way to pay for his milk. She had been feeding him oatmeal water and rice water.

A girl stands by her 10 year old malnourished autistic brother who needs 10 pints of blood for a transfusion, or he’ll die, but only has enough money for 6 pints.

Not pictured is a 16 year old mother with her one month old son who is slowly dying, drowning actually, because the doctors can’t get the fluid out of his lungs. The doctors want to transfer her to a better hospital in the city, but she doesn’t have the $35 needed for gas for the ambulance.

Everyone has a story…and it seems you have been chosen to help the ones God puts right in front of your face.

Thank you to everyone who saw EFP and helped!!

Denia woke up with a 103 degree fever. She’s back in the hospital and will have to stay for at least a week. I was told by the girls pediatrician she didn’t have enough protein in her blood for the antibiotics to work. She has pneumonia, asthma, a stomach infection and is extremely anemic. She was also classified at the highest level of malnutrition you can be, therefore, she’s more delicate than a premature baby in the same condition.

Yuri’s staying with Denia at the hospital tonight (Yay for Yuri!). I was spent and needed a little break from sleeping in a chair.
